I was listening to "A Little Bit Longer" by the Jonas Brothers when I wrote this song.
There's always someone who's going to get hurt in some sort of way. This song talks about it. It also talks about how that hurt person will always have someone who they can rely on when they need to.
So, here's my song:
Everyday,
You're walking around the world,
Acting like you're perfectly okay.
But deep inside,
You're really in pain.
Throughout the day,
You put on a face
That makes everyone smile.
Yet sometimes,
When I look into your eyes,
I start to wonder
If you're dying deep inside.
Chorus
So, give me a sign.
Just tell me that everything will be okay.
Give me some assurance
That everything will be alright.
Tell me that the pain will all go away,
And that you will be fine the next day.
So, please just give me
A little blessed assurance.
You try so hard to make a difference.
Trying to reach out to people in the world
Who are just like you.
You seem okay.
You look great.
But I look into your eyes
And think I see some pain.
I want to reach out to you.
I wanna comfort you.
But since you're too far away,
What can I say?
Chorus
To be where you are now
And to find out such news.
To be at the peak of joy
And to feel the boulder that will bring you sown.
To watch as everything
Changes right in front of you.
I bet you cried,
'Cause I would cry too.
Chorus
Chorus 2
I'll wait for the sign as long as I can.
I'll walk beside you whenever I can.
I'll be the shoulder that you can cry on.
I'll be your strength throughout the storm.
I'll never leave your side
Because you never left mine.
So until the day you're ready,
I'll give you my blessed assurance.
